The Ginza, Tokyo Haircut at The Barber Sony Bldg. (Original Audio) [with Marc Antomattei]

The Ginza, Tokyo Haircut at The Barber, Sony Bldg. (Inspired by HairCut Harry / Nomad Barber)

The YouTube version of this video features a dubbed over music only audio track. This is the original audio version complete with clipper and scissor sounds, and the original barbershop jazz soundtrack with John Coltrane, Jackie McLean, and Horace Silver with the likes of "The Believer", "Snuff", and "Enchantment".

The Barber (yes it's really called that) is a high end chain of barbershops / hair salons for men in Central Tokyo. You can find one at almost all major fashionable stations of Tokyo. The newest addition to the chain from 2015 is located on the 2nd floor of the Sony Building in Ginza.

The prices are up front and you order from a "course menu" that's written in both Japanese and English meaning they probably have a few foreign clientele coming through the doors. I'm quite certain from the experience though I'm the first colored client with woolly hair this particular barber has ever cut before. I paid ¥2,750 + tax for a 25 minute "Quick Haircut Course" (sounds like food).

Video edited for length and pacing.
